DAUGHTER / PROPOSED SHARED SOFTWARE

Records that support follow-through.

Daughter is the proposed software environment connecting measurements, the people authorised to use them and the next agreed action.

Proposed software architecture

Intended users
Individuals and the professionals authorised to support or study their programme.
Initial setting
Shared services shaped by a specific Phanes product workflow.
Next question to test
Define the first record, permissions and follow-up workflow, then evaluate it with its intended users.

Daughter is in development as a proposed shared software architecture. It is not a separately available service or a deployed connection between the Phanes instruments.

The purpose

A useful measurement needs its source, context and a clear place in the work someone is doing. Daughter would organise measurements, symptoms, activity, device status and professional decisions into a traceable history.

Its role is shared software within the Phanes portfolio, with interfaces suited to individuals, clinicians, rehabilitation teams, performance practitioners and researchers. It is not being offered as a separate service.

What we are proposing

Records and permissions

Keep source, time, quality and missing information visible. Control who can see, contribute to or export a record.

Programmes and participation

Present agreed instructions, reminders and activities. Let the person record completion, discomfort and barriers.

Review and follow-up

Bring outstanding questions to an authorised professional and retain their decisions, corrections and next actions.

An example future workflow

Illustrative rehabilitation programme, subject to development and evaluation.

  1. Agree a plan. A professional records goals, activities and review arrangements.
  2. Connect relevant information. The person authorises appropriate records and measurements.
  3. Record the experience. The person reports participation and any difficulties; recorded activity is kept distinct from evidence of improvement.
  4. Review and follow up. The professional checks the source information and approves any revised plan, with a named next action.

Daughter and DOWS have different roles

Daughter describes proposed product software for records and workflows. DOWS is the onboarding environment for Demos, Overviews, Walkthroughs and Scenarios. The current Sentinel demo lets people explore and practise a workflow; it is not a deployed Daughter service.

Lucid is a separate programme in hearing-restoration research.

What needs to be demonstrated

Start with the shared services required by one defined workflow. Evaluate source attribution, critical omissions, comprehension, review burden, permissions and follow-up completion.

Professional decisions remain accountable to the appropriate person. A conversational response would not independently change treatment or command a prosthesis. Sentinel’s essential bedside functions and Touch’s real-time control must not depend on a remote software service.

Help define the first workflow

We welcome input on how information should move between a person, their instrument and their professional team. Tell us where records or responsibilities become difficult to follow in your current work.
